An armed robber who stole cash from a Second Street bank Friday afternoon drew a swarm of uniformed officers to Belmont Shore, where they blocked streets and circled by air searching for the suspect.

The blue police helicopter circled several spots tightly, from the Alamitos Bay area to residential streets where people could be seen at the curb, gazing to the sky. Claremont Avenue was briefly closed on both sides of Division, where cars idled, waiting.
