A woman is injured in the blaze.

Arson investigators today were trying to determine the cause of a fire in an apartment building in Long Beach that injured a 44- year-woman.

The fire was reported at 10:24 p.m. Tuesday in a two-story building in the 600 block of Magnolia Avenue, said Firefighter Steve Yamamoto of the Long Beach Fire Department. The flames were knocked down in less than 10 minutes.

A total of 47 firefighters responded, Yamamoto said. The victim was trapped in a second-story apartment above the unit where the fire broke out, Yamamoto said. The apartment where the fire started sustained heavy fire damage and a hallway sustained smoke and fire damage, Yamamoto said.
