Arrests Made in Long Beach Stabbing

Police say two Long Beach women have been arrested in connection with the July 1 stabbing death

Long Beach police say they’ve arrested two people in connection with the murder of a woman who was stabbed July 1 during an apparent dispute at an apartment complex in the 30 block of E. Plymouth Street.

On Monday afternoon, July 1, Long Beach Police homicide detectives arrested 46-year-old Sandra Howard, and her daughter, 21-year-old Tara Howard, both from Long Beach, on suspicion of the murder of 39-year-old Tekeisha Neeley of Long Beach, according to a police report. Both women were booked with murder and are being held at the Long Beach City Jail in lieu of $1 million bail, police said.

The stabbing stemmed from a dispute that apparently occurred when the victim was visiting the East Plymouth Street apartment, police said.  Sometime during the dispute, the victim was stabbed in the upper torso, police said. After she was taken to a hospital she was pronounced dead.

No additional details are being made public due to the continuing investigation, police said. However, detectives are looking for additional witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.

Police urge anyone with information to call Long Beach Police Homicide Detectives Mark McGuire and Greg Krabbe at (562) 570-7244.  Anonymous tips may be submitted via text or web by visiting www.tipsoft.com.
