$10,000 Reward Offer in Long Beach Murder Extended

Tony Craig Bowman Calloway was standing on the sidewalk in front of his home in the 2300 block of Locust Ave. when he was shot.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today renewed a $10,000 reward for information that helps solve the apparent gang-related slaying of a 21-year-old Long Beach man. Last Sept. 18, was standing on the sidewalk in front of his home in the 2300 block of Locust Ave. when he was shot by a man firing from the southeast corner of Locust and Eagle Street.

Supervisor Don Knabe recommended that the reward -- set to expire May 7 - - be extended for another 90 days. Calloway had been talking to a group of people when he was shot and Knabe said he hoped the money would prompt reluctant witnesses to come forward.

Calloway was not a gang member, according to police, who said they believe the gunman is a member of a local gang. Anyone with information was asked to call Long Beach police Detective Mark McGuire at (562) 570-5573 or Detective Greg Krabbe at (562) 570-5534. Callers may remain anonymous.
