Police Shootings Protested

Trejon Woods was unarmed and on his knees when shot multiple times by Long Beach Police.  His death marks the 20th officer-involved shooting in the city, the highest number recorded since 2008.  Of the 20 officer involved shootings this year, 7 involved UNARMED citizens.

In contrast, the Los Angeles Police Department, which covers a city of nearly 4 million, has had 24 officer-involved shootings so far this year. Long Beach’s population is just under 470,000.

Many question LBPD's lethal force policy which appears to be one of "Can I shoot rather than must I shoot.”
