Long Beach Won't Extradite Violent Criminals

Imagine how you would feel if your daughter had been raped and killed.  Next, how would it make you feel to know Long Beach police knew the murder/rapist lived in Las Vegas but chose not to extradite and prosecute him because the City determined it cost prohibitive?

867 Long Beach murderers, rapists and other violent crime fugitives are registered in the FBI's National Crime Information Center with notes telling other law enforcement agencies across the U.S. they won't come get them.   Often, Long Beach fugitives avoid jail time because police and prosecutors have decided, without informing victims that they won't go get them if they're arrested out of state.  Furthermore, knowing they are not being chased, these fugitives continue to rob, kill and rape.

Below you can see how many warrants Long Beach has issued and the percentage of those warrants that are not extraditable.  All of these are over twice the national average.
