We went to see the last performance of the Renaissance High School play, "The Wedding Singer" Saturday night at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, and really enjoyed it. It's too bad that it's over.
The plot was based on the movie, "The Wedding Singer" with Adam Sandler, and it's about a man named Robbie Hart, who is a wedding singer and is engaged. But when his fiance, Linda, dumps him, he decides that he can't take being a wedding singer anymore and he'll have to find different gigs like Bar Mitvahs.
He meets a waitress along the way named Julia, played by Drew Barrymore in the movie. But Julia gets engaged to someone else, a guy named Gus, so Robbie and Julia support each other as friends until .....
I don't want to give away the ending in case you haven't seen the movie. But it ends happily, has a great soundtrack and a great amount of laughs. There are also a lot of students in the cast.
I thought it was amazing. One of the best plays by Renaissance High for the Arts that I've seen.
It was exciting, had great singing and acting, and had very well-made costumes.
