Local Olympians Attend Beach Polo Cup at Bayshore
Local Olympians catch Bayshore's Water Polo events the Aug. 18th weekend.

Sunday was the sixth annual Beach Water Polo Cup presented by Shore Aquatics and Irvine Kahuna Youth Water Polo Club. The event took place over the weekend of August 18th and featured a beach packed full of water polo, Olympic celebrities and fun.
The event, founded by U.S.A. Men’s national team water polo assistant coach Robert Lynn, drew crowds of people to Bayshore to view the water polo games that took place 20 meters off the shore. Three courses were set up in the middle of the bay with spectators looking on from surf boards and paddle boards.

Several Long Beach Olympians showed up for the festivities and were interviewed by the Channel 4 News team. The group included Jessica Hardy, swimmer from Naples, who showed off her gold medal on stage, and water polo stars Lauren Wenger, Shea Buckner, and captain Tony Azevedo, among others, came to show their support for the city that sparked their Olympic journey.
Jolyn swimwear and Monster Polo, who sponsored the event, have tents set up until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday with a ton of great gear for sale!
