Algerian Terrorists Attack a Natural Gas Plant: My View

Algerian terrorists attack a natural gas plant and my opinion.

If you haven’t already heard, terrorists have attacked a remote Sahara desert natural gas facility in Algeria. And 81 people have been including in the death toll. Saturday ended the 4-day terrorist attack and victims are yet to be found.
Now that all the information has been given, I can give you my two cents on the whole thing.

What really alarms me is where the terrorists struck, at a natural gas plant. Terrorists now know what the world really likes and what will hit us hard. I guarantee that if it had been windmills or a solar panel field, no terrorist would have tried to blow it up. This just adds to the disasters that take place due to oil consumption(BP oil spill, Kuwaiti oil fires, Ixtoc I).

This whole thing to me seems to scream two things, terrorism is not a good way to solve things and oil is causing humanity a lot of problems.

I can see this happening many times in the future and not just to oil but water as well. If Algeria cannot defeat their own terrorists that’s fine, but the attack took an American life and that is something we should not be victims to.

I know for a fact we would have never been so involved in the Middle East in the first place if not for oil, a finite resource which will soon be harder and harder to find. Already, we have been forced to drill in the arctic to find more of our black gold.

I’m glad to hear that Obama has been re-elected because he has already started the transition to cleaner renewable sources of energy. I can only hope that future leaders heed the call and find a way to decrease dependency on oil.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

You're exactly right Marcos, no terrorist would have tried to blow up windmills or a solar panel field.

Prior to his election as a write-in candidate, Councilman Patrick O'Donnell told the Long BeachRead More Business Journal on February 28, 2012 the following:***** LBBJ: If you win the reelection, will you commit to a full four-year term?***** Councilman O'Donnell: If you run for four, you serve four. ***** LBBJ: So, you're not going to run for Assembly in two years? ***** O'Donnell: Correct. ***** LBBJ: No matter what? ***** O'Donnell: Correct. If you run for four, you serve four. ***** If you can't trust O'Donnell's word, why would anyone vote for him to be their representative for political office? ***** http://www.lbreport.com/news/jan13/odonlbbj.htm

And do his supporters care about this, do you think? No doubt others will.

Regarding, "do O'Donnell's supporters care?", many of O'Donnell's supporters are inRead More elected and appointed public positions, and their support of O'Donnell includes placing the financial burden of a $150,000 special election on the taxpayers. I would think that a responsible journalist would ask each of them about that issue.
