Police Commander Offers Eastside Crime Update

Tonight, East Division Commander Michael Beckman invites public in and around Belmont Shore and Heights to learn what residents and businesses need to know about recent crime activity.

The public is invited Monday night to learn more about recent crime in the Belmont Shore, Belmont Heights and greater East side neighborhoods at a special meeting at the Long Beach Water Treatment Plan.

Long Beach Police Department's East Division Commander Michael Beckman will conduct the update on crime from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Treatment Plant, which is located at 2950 Redondo Avenue (at Spring Street).

The East Division of Long Beach's four quadrants is roughly the area of the city east of Cherry Avenue to Studebaker Road.

"This is an excellent opportunity to get to meet your neighbors, receive the most current information about crime in the East Division, and to discuss neighborhood crime issues," Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Massacani wrote in announcing the meeting. "Please share this invitation with friends, family and neighbors."
