Keep on Food Truckin' ...A Burger to Blow Your Mind

Check back to my blog on Monday to see what food trucks will be closest to Belmont Shore!

Ok everyone, we have a change! The schedule of the Belmont Shore-friendly food truck event that I had blogged about yesterday has adjusted their dates. The event that usually takes place every Wednesday has been moved to the first Wednesday of every month. Today is the last Wednesday of the month so, unfortunately, I did not get a chance to blog about it.

But, I was so determined to blog to everyone about food trucks that I took matters into my own hands. You’ll learn nothing gets between me and a good eat; I reminded myself to Keep on Food Truckin’! I hopped in my car and tracked down the closest food truck to Belmont Shore that I could find.

I came across a truck called Rounds. It was parked about 3 miles from Belmont Shore in the center of a business outlet parking lot. It was love at first bite--this truck instantly made my top ten best food trucks. They focus on making “premium burgers.” Just by looking at them, you know they are going to be delicious.

The menu was stacked with many options. There was a burger called “The Western Burger” that consisted of your choice of the signature beef patty or vegetarian patty, barbeque sauce, bacon, deep fried onion straws, and your option of cheese. This burger blew my mind. The bun was sweet and fluffy Artisan bread that was toasted to perfection. The barbeque sauce was sweet but had the perfect tang that made you want another bite instantly.

Another burger that Rounds had to offer was “The California.” This burger is their top seller and I instantly knew why. The burger is made with your choice of patty, American cheese, avocado spread, bacon, and Thousand Island sauce. The avocado spread was thick and creamy but not heavy at all. The Thousand Island sauce reminded me of the spread that In ‘n Out uses, but Rounds sauce blows them out of the water. It’s not a strong taste, but it’s definitely enough to give a sweet kick to the burger.

George, the man behind the goodness, is willing to accommodate your taste buds desires. He gives the option of making a “custom burger” out of any of the choices on the menu. For a full menu list of this outstanding truck, visit their web page www.roundsburgers.com.

Join me next Wednesday, December 7, 2011, for the Belmont Shore food truck event that will be from 11:30am to 2:30pm on Redondo and Anaheim. Check back on Monday for a full listing of what trucks will be rolling in!
