Where to Legally Buy, Set Off Fireworks Near Long Beach

While fireworks are illegal in Long Beach, there are many nearby cities that do allow them.

You might conclude otherwise from the occasional pop and bang you hear on your block this week, but fireworks are illegal in many cities in Los Angeles County, including Long Beach.

So how can you buy and enjoy fireworks if you live in a town that does not allow them? Quick answer: Go somewhere else in the county.

At the bottom of this article we have a list of where "safe and sane" fireworks are allowed in the county.

The closest town to Long Beach where these fireworks are allowed for sale and use is Lakewood. Other nearby cities where they are legal include Carson, Gardena and Artesia.

There is also a very tight window time-wise of when the sales are allowed: permitted sales dates started last Thursday and will end July 6.
