Tolling Bells, Queen Mary Offers Military Free Memorial Day Admission

Last minute ideas for nearby Memorial Day services around Long Beach.

One of the more moving Memorial Day Services  unfolds at 11 a.m. with the Tolling of the Bells in honor of those who perished in submarines. Free and open to the public, it is a quietly beautiful annual service at the U.S. National Submarine Memorial West at the Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach, and you can still make, as it takes some time to literally toll bells for the dead, and there will be speakers.

The Queen Mary will be free all day Monday to active, reserve and retired members of the military in honor of Memorial Day.

Those with Military ID will pay no admission and their immediate family members' admission will be 40% discounted through the Queen Mary Passport

"In addition, to honor all Veterans, active Military and the the Queen Mary's own War service as a troopship, the "Her Finest Hour: A WWII Tour" will be offered as a tour option within the Queen Mary Passport," the ship announced. To make a full day of it, there are various packages in order to see the USS Iowa/Queen Mary Combo. More details are at: http://www.queenmary.com/events/memorial_day.php#sthash.ICzFdBvn.dpuf
