Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss

In honor of today's birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, share your favorite story by the beloved late author of 'Cat in the Hat,' 'Green Eggs and Ham' and more.

Today marks the birthday of perhaps the most famous children's book author, Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. It's marked annually by reading events around the country and at our local elementary schools, such as Lowell, Naples and Fremont. "The Lorax" movie based on his book also premieres today.

Trying to pick one favorite Dr. Seuss book is as hard for me as picking my favorite Beatles song or "Dexter" episode. It always changes. Right now, I would have to say, "Oh, the Places You'll Go," but that is my adult choice. What is your favorite? Tell us in comments.

All of them but I really LOVE The Lorax and Hooray for Diffendoofer Day in honor of our wonderful teacher who teach our children much more that taking the test.

As a kid I loved Green Eggs and Ham and never read The Grinch that I recall. Oh the Places You'll Go, as an adult and parent, is now my favorite and a treasure. We saw an exhibit of Geisel's paintings in San Francisco around New Year's Day that was very interesting (and expensive).
