Crescendo on the Vine

Get ready to have a stomping good time when the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra presents Crescendo On The Vine, an evening of fine dining, wine tasting, music, grape stomping, and a paperless silent auction, to be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. on the grounds of the Terrace Theater in Long Beach.

Presented by John W. Hancock Family Foundation and Earl B. and Loraine H. Miller Foundation, Crescendo offers guests the opportunity to experience the Terrace Theater Plaza in a whole new light as they relax around an open fire pit with a glass of wine or a cocktail and enjoy the ambiance of spectacularly lit fountains while bidding on rare wines and exclusive packages focused on wine and music.

This year, LBSO presents a paperless silent auction as guests bid on items with the touch of a finger on a convenient hand-held device.

Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared by Chef Gary Byars (formerly with Wolfgang Puck) and fine wines while continuing to bid on items from the silent auction.

After dinner, five teams of community participants including city officials will step into barrels of grapes for a “stomping good time” as they experience first-hand the art of wine making while raising money to support LBSO programs. Guests can vote on their favorite stompers ($1 = 1 vote) at the event, or through each stomper’s webpage as listed on www.LBSO.org.

The evening concludes with guests “stomping” to the beat on a dance floor or relaxing with a drink by an al fresco fire.
