National Rifle Association ~ Still Crazy After All These Years

"This Collection of NRA Ads Reveals Its Descent Into Crazy"

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/03/national-rifle-association-ads-history

90 years of propaganda...isn't it time to STOP?

A 1920 Remington ad in Boys Life declared that the NRA was "a United States Government organization." IT WAS NOT, NOR WAS IT EVER, AND IT IS NOT TODAY A GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION.

1950 AD OFFERS "A Junior Membership" JUST LIKE BIG TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL LET'S GET THE KIDS HOOKED and TEACH MOM AND DAD THAT GUNS ARE SAFE FOR KIDS.

1957 AD totes NRA Members' right to buy government surplus gun equipment.THE SAME GOVERNMENT THE NRA INSIST THAT WE NEED TO PROTECT OURSELVES AGAINST WITH...GUNS.

1970 AD "Hunters Beware"...NRA SHIFTS FROM RIGHT TO HUNT CONCEPT TO DEFEND YOURSELF CENTERED CAMPAIGNS.

1982 AD "meant to demonstrate NRA's wide appeal" aka USE KIDS AND CELEBRITIES IN YOUR ADS TO PROPAGATE THE NORMALCY OF GUNS

Late 1980s AD"Why can't a policeman be there when you need him?" GENERATE FEAR...SIT BACK AND WATCH AMERICANS KILL EACH OTHER THEN CONVINCE THEM THE ANSWER IS MORE GUNS

Going into the 1990's "Do rapist, murders, and robbers wait in line?" WHY YES, MR & MRS NRA THEY DO...AT GUN SHOWS WHERE THEY ARE FREE TO PURCHASE GUNS WITHOUT QUESTIONS OR BACKGROUND CHECKS.

1995 AD "Mr. President, the second amendment is not about duck hunting". Interestingly, THE NRA DISTANCE ITSELF FROM ITS LONG TIME STANCE THAT HUNTING IS CENTRAL TO GUN CONTROL. MAYBE BECAUSE HUNTING NUMBERS HAVE DECLINED DRAMATICALLY, SO NOW MR & MRS NRA NEED A NEW PROPAGANDA TO PROMOTE GUNS.

2013 AD goes from THE 1920'S claim of being a government organization concerned with hunting rights to ANTI-GOVERNMENT, FEAR MONGERING TACTICS AND EVEN CALLING OUR PRESIDENT "JUST ANOTHER ELITIST HYPOCRITE"

Former NRA president, Karl T. Frederick, a 1920 Olympic gold-medal winner for marksmanship who became a lawyer, praised the new (1938) state gun controls in Congress.
“I have never believed in the general practice of carrying weapons,” he testified before the 1938 law was passed. “I do not believe in the general promiscuous toting of guns. I think it should be sharply restricted and only under licenses.”

IT'S TIME TO PUT THE NRA TO BED AMERICA ~ WAKE UP AND FEEL THE RECOIL~ THE EASY AVAILABILITY OF GUNS IS DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY.
