It's Snow Much Fun!

Schipske and The Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine are hosting the Fifth District Winter Wonderland at Good Neighbor Park December 13-14, complete with real snow, snow sleds, holiday contests, live music and visits from Santa Claus and The Grinch. The two day event is free and open to the public.
"Santa will be lighting the holiday tree with me on Friday December
13th to kick off the event. I look forward to seeing kids playing and
sledding in the snow and getting into the holiday spirit," stated Schipske, "and on Saturday, we even have an Ugly Holiday Sweater contest for the adults, and a Gingerbread House decorating contest for kids."

The event begins at 5 pm on Friday and runs all day Saturday from 10
am to 8 pm. Friday's schedule will highlight the tree lighting, play in the
snow, and a visit by Santa Claus. Food trucks Perk Up, Wise BBQ, and the Grub Cart will also join the festivities.

The day's events include a Gingerbread House Decorating Contest for kids from noon to 1 pm, with judging at 1:15 pm. The Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest for adults will be at 1:30, and of course, snow all day sledding and snow play until it melts. Santa will make a special appearance, and a visit by visit by The Grinch, courtesy of the Long Beach Public Library will make a special appearance from 2-3 pm. Food trucks scheduled are The Grilled Cheese Truck, Perk Up, Wise BBQ, and The Cake Truck for Saturday's fun.
