Woman Gunned Down in Long Beach Identified: The woman found shot to death on a Long Beach sidewalk was identified Wednesday as a 31-year-old Long Beach resident, but police said the motive for the murder remains unknown.

Burned Body Found in SUV Identifed as Long Beach Man: The body found inside a burning vehicle in the 30100 block of Miraleste Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes Tuesday was identified as a Long Beach man by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Wednesday afternoon.  The man was identified as Christopher Waters, 42, of Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Diane Hecht.

Reported Belmont Shore Robber Draws Helicopter: If you were wondering about the low-circling police helicopter in Belmont Shore midday Thursday, it was a false alarm, but the Long Beach Police Department praised the resident nonetheless for reporting it.

Arrest Made in Phillips Street Shooting: Long Beach Police Department officers have arrested 20-year-old Derome Harper in connection with the fatal shooting on Phillips Street last Saturday evening. According to a statement released by the Long Beach Police Department, Harper was booked for murder on Sunday and is being held at Long Beach City Jail without bail.

Long Beach Man Arrested for Allegedly Robbing Bank: After receiving a tip from a witness, police arrested a Long Beach parolee who is suspected of robbing a Fountain Valley bank, police reported Tuesday. John Mclaughlin, 35, of Long Beach, was taken into custody about 7:48 p.m. Monday in Long Beach and booked into the Orange County Jail pending charges for robbery, possession of methamphetamine and a parole violation, according to Fountain Valley police Sgt. Ted Valle
