Happy 100th Birthday Port of Long Beach

Thousands are expected at Port's centennial birthday party, which is open to the public.

The Port of Long Beach will celebrate its first 100 years with a free, open-to-the-public birthday event Saturday afternoon.

The day’s festivities will include carnival games and rides, the Long Beach Municipal Band, photos and historic equipment exhibits, cupcakes and actor Robert Wagner.

Historic photos and port related machinery on display throughout the day, including a Memory Lane interactive exhibit where event goers can share their own remembrances of the Port.

The entertainment will at Pier E, just south of the Gerald Desmond Bridge, at Ocean Boulevard and Pico Avenue. Gates open at 2:30 p.m. and parking is free.
