Flood Advisory for Long Beach and South L.A. County
Thunderstorms could bring ponding on roadways and swamp some intersections.
There's an urban and small stream flood advisory for Long Beach and other parts of south Los Angeles County, especially the foothill communities. The National Weather Service advisory is in effect until 10:30 p.m.
Moderate to heavy showers are expected, along with thunderstorms, which have brought as much as a half-inch of rain per hour in some areas. Travelers should watch out for ponding on freeways and roadways, and flooding of low-lying areas and intersections.
A total of .58 inches of rain fell at Long Beach Airport in the past 24 hours.
