City Services, Buildings to Close on Christmas Day to Observe Holiday
Among the participants are the libraries, City Hall, parks and more. There will also be no trash collection or street sweeping on Christmas Day.
Many city services and buildings will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to observe the holiday.
The following places will be closed on Christmas Day to observe the holiday:
- Long Beach City Hall will be closed on Christmas Day, but will be open on Christmas Eve.
- El Dorado Nature Center, including Rancho Los Cerritos, Park offices, swimming pools and community park facilities, will be closed on Christmas Day. El Dorado Regional Park will also be closed.
- Animal Care Services and spcaLA will not be open on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day because they are regularly closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which are the days the holidays fall upon.
- There will be no garbage collection on Christmas Day. Collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of each week, ending on Saturday.
- There will be no street sweeping on Christmas Day. Street sweeping will continue its regular schedule after the holidays with no make-ups or delays.
- Parking meters with holiday exemptions will not be enforced on Christmas Day. However, all meters and time zones will be enforced on Christmas Eve.
- All libraries will be closed on Christmas Day and re-open on Dec. 26 for regular hours. They will also be closed on Christmas Eve because they are regularly closed on Mondays.
