Animation Fest, Noted Author: Five Ideas For Your Weekend

Thinking about getting a tattoo? LIke the twisted side of cartoons? This is your weekend.

An entire smorgasbord of art and culture is at your fingertips this weekend, from alternative to classic theater,  music and literature.

Why Go: This incredible assortment of animated films is a true crowd pleaser. The animated shorts feature a diverse array of cutting-edge animation and artistic design.

When/Where: This Friday through Sunday at the Queen Mary, 1126 Queens Highway in Long Beach

Why Go: This incredible event will feature tattoo artists from all over the world, live bands, a car show, a pin-up pageant, burlesque shows, tattoo contests, movies, vendors and more.

When/Where: 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays through June 26 at the International City Theatre, 300 East Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach

Why Go: This poignant, fiery comedy about life in Harlem in 1943 tells the story of two sisters and what happens when a handsome renter begins living in their home.

When/Where: Reception and auction begins at 6:30 p.m., performance begins at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday at Daniels Recital Hall, 1250 North Bellflower Boulevard in Long Beach

Why Go: The Long Beach Camerata Singers present an evening of musical theater featuring solos, duets and ensemble numbers. The evening kicks off with a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception and silent auction benefitting the programs and services of the Camerata Singers.
