SuperMom Prevents Near-Death by Gobstopper

Maybe all Mom's are SuperHeroes....I know mine is...

It all started innocently enough. She was picking me up from Ryan's house after school. My mom, mother of 4, Registered Nurse, wife, and today, my personal chauffer.

As we sat in the Anderson's driveway, ready to go home, Mom caught up with Mrs. Anderson while I thought it would be a good idea to get acquainted with a Gobstopper candy.

As they talked, I licked and chewed and finally lost patience with this piece of cherry flavored candy. I was a busy kid on the move with many other types of candy to try. I simply didn't see the point of dragging out my relationship with this Gobstopper any further. I decided to swallow it.

The Gobstopper wasn't ready to go however, and decided to lodge itself firmly in my throat. I tried to breathe to no avail, then I tried to speak and found myself mute.

I was choking on a Gobstopper.

I thought about my options. Being a rather polite child, I actually did think twice about whether or not to disrupt my Mom's converstation. In the end however, I felt that dying from Gobstopper was no way to go.

I punched Mom in the arm and pointed to my throat.

Within a matter of seconds, Mom had grabbed me by the waste somewhat violently, and began thrusting into my stomach. I had absolutely no idea what was happening and felt that my predicament didn't deserve this type of treatment.

However, within seconds, the murderous Gobstopper came flying out of my throat.

I found myself in a state of shock for a few seconds. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. All I knew is I could breathe again.

I stared at the Gobstopper for a few seconds, then I looked at my Mom.

She had resumed her conversation.

She gave me life...then a few years later, she saved it.

She is my hero.

Happy Mother's Day Mom.

Love,

Chris
