American Council of Engineering Companies California Elects New Executive Director

SACRAMENTO, CA – January 16, 2014 – American Council of Engineering Companies of California (ACEC California) has selected Brad Diede to serve as its new Executive Director.   Brad takes over for Paul Meyer who is retiring after 32 years leading the statewide association of 1000 private engineering and land surveying firms that average 20 employees each.  ACEC California is dedicated to strengthening the engineering and surveying professions, protecting the general public and promoting the use of the private sector in building a better California.

Brad Diede has been serving for the last ten and a half years as the Executive Director for California Professional Association of Specialty Contractors (CALPASC) an organization of construction trade contractors, suppliers, and related businesses.

Brad worked with CALPASC since their founding in 2003 managing membership, media campaigns, and government affairs.  He has led a grassroots campaign that marshaled the passage of significant legislation regarding construction defect matters and promoted fair enforcement of key California laws and regulations regarding construction.   CALPASC has initiated an immediate search for Brad’s replacement.

He is frequently asked to serve as a facilitator and moderator for industry events and roundtable discussions.

ACEC President Bill Wagner says, “Brad Diede has a great combination of strong management skills and deep experience with our legislative issues that will serve ACEC very well.  We are very fortunate to have a highly qualified executive to continue the legacy established by Paul Meyer’s 32 years of leadership.”
