Sprouts & Shutters: New Businesses in the Long Beach Area

Sprouts

A new Kaiser Permanente medical office has plans to open in mid-spring 2014, Cerritos-Artesia Patch reported last week. The facility will be located at 10820 183rd St. in Cerritos.

Pier 76 Fish Grill opened earlier this month at 544 E. Ocean Blvd. in downtown Long Beach, according to Eater L.A. Chef Chris Krajacic's menu includes poke, ceviche, cornmeal-crusted catfish, mussels with fries, and more.

Sweet Threads, a vintage store located at 3301 E. Fourth St. in Long Beach, celebrated its grand opening earlier this month, according to the Grunion Gazette

Sit 'N Sleep opened its first Long Beach showroom at 6378 E. Pacific Coast Hwy, the Gazette reported in the same issue.

Picarelli's Cucina Italiana, which closed in 2011 after outgrowing its original space, reopened down the street at 6204 E. Pacific Coast Hwy., the Gazette reported

Mercedes-Benz USA signed an agreement with Sares-Regis Group for a long-term lease at the former Boeing manufacturing facility in Long Beach, Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske announced in a blog post on Patch. It's not clear what the facility will be used for. 

Shutters

Nordstrom Rack City Place, which opened in Aug. 2002, will permanently close in January 2014, the Long Beach Post reported

Orchard Supply Hardware in Bixby Knolls appears to be the victim of bankruptcy, according to the Grunion Gazette. The store has posted large "store closing" signs.
