Santa and Other Second Street Holiday Fun's in Store

Here's a list of daily holiday performances and merriment alomg Belmont Shore's main street, including a blocks-long evening open house, where some retail shops may offer snacks.

It's an early gift to shoppers: free two-hour parking on Second Street this weekend, as well as holiday happenings and gifts.

On Saturday night, Santa Claus was joined by Mrs. Clause and two lovely young girls who were serving as helpers. "Ho, ho, ho," Santa said. And we quote.

Here are Sunday's scheduled events.

On Wednesday, Second Street will host a Holiday Open House for shoppers from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

While carolers stroll both sides of Second Street, and guests shop for gifts, retailers and restaurants have been encouraged by the Belmont Shore Business Association to team up to serve food, like bite-sized snacks and hot cocoa, to the hungry shoppers. As it is not required to cross promote with another Belmont Shore business, stores also have the option of serving other types of food, if desired.

The event aims to brighten the experience for holiday shoppers. Each retailer can decide if it wants to offer any promotions, discounts or incentives that evening.

Santa Claus will be back from the weekend, and available for families and kids to take photos with.
