Naples Businesses Honor an Island Favorite

The late Ken Cassidy, founder of the Naples Island Business Improvement Assn. 20 years ago and owner of Pygmalion hair salon, will be remembered today with the first NIBA Memorial Award.

The first annual NIBA Memorial Award will be announced at a noon lunch today at Naples Rib Company for local businesses to celebrate the late founder of the group.

Ken Cassidy, a hair cutter, consultant for the cosmetology industry and beloved colleague among Naples Island businesses, passed away in October after an illness, and a memorial was held among friends near his salon on Second Street.

Now, business colleagues are going to honor him again with the creation of the first such award to a Naples business that has made extra-special effort to improve Naples Island, said Kimberley Miller, secretary of the NIBA.
