Long Beach Named as Top Convention City

Long Beach is again one of the top 50 meeting places in the U.S., according Cvent, an internet event planning and management service. Long Beach is ranked 48th, down six spots from last year.

This is the second year in a row that Long Beach has been in the top 50 ranking.

“There were a surprising number of cities that shifted in our list this year, highlighting the competitive nature of the meetings and conventions industry, as well as the critical role that convention and visitors bureaus play in attracting events,” Cvent’s spokesman Bharet Malhotra stated.

The ranking is based on requests for proposals received, total room nights consumed, awarded RFPs and room nights and the percentage of qualified meeting venues, according to the website.

Other California cities in the top 50 are Los Angeles, San Diego, Newport Beach, Anaheim, Coronado, Carlsbad, San Francisco and San Jose.
