Drivers Pay Top Gas Prices Ever Labor Day Weekend

It's your price at the pump this Labor Day weekend but it helps to use our handy Patch tool to find your lowest gas prices near you.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose a half-cent today to $4.166, its highest amount since June 7.

The average price is 4.2 cents more than one week ago, 33.2 cents higher than one month ago and 32.1 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has risen for eight consecutive days, increasing 4.7 cents over that span.

The Orange County average price rose seven-tenths of a cent today to $4.143, its highest amount since June 6. It is 4.3 cents more than a week ago, 32.9 cents higher than one month ago and 31.1 cents greater than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen for nine consecutive days, increasing 4.8 cents over that span.

"Due to the price spike earlier this month, Labor Day weekend travelers will be paying the higest gas prices ever for this holiday," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
