'CSI: Miami's' In Belmont Shore Today

You may see some smoke and guns drawn, but it is all part of the top-rated CBS TV series that often films along the Long Beach coastline.

If you see it goin' down on the beach today, look around for Detective John Kelly before you call 9-1-1. The cast of "CSI: Miami" will be working on the production until after dark down around Ocean Boulevard and just south.

The guns were to start being drawn about 11 a.m. Monday and actors outside on the wooden boardwalk side, according to a notice the city of Long Beach film office distributed to nearby residents. Emmy and Golden Globe winner David Caruso wasn't spotted Monday, but crew members could be seen in the Claremont boat launch parking lot and outside of the blue house across the street from the Bayshore Playground.

Tuesday was said to involve a helicopter in the same parking lot. Squint if you CSI.

All the fake crime-fighting should be a wrap by Tuesday, the notice informed. The ''dressing rooms" and production support trailers can be seen in the parking lot as well. A security guard said the action Tuesday will last until later in the evening.

One of the show's actors, Rex Linn, has repeatedly donated his time and effort to non-profit and charitable efforts by Patch Off the Hook fishing columnist Philip Friedman, who can be found many days a week off the Long Beach and local coastline.
