Disney Announces New Age Restrictions at Resorts

Children younger than 14 will need to have an older companion starting March 23.

Starting Saturday, children younger than 14 won't be able to get into Disneyland without being accompanied by someone who is 14 or older.

Up until now, there was no age policy for admission at Disneyland, and other Disney theme parks had different policies, said Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown.

"We wanted to make (the policies) consistent," Brown said.

The change was not prompted by any issues or incidents, she said.

"We regularly review all of our policies and identified an opportunity to provide a consistent age of admission and address a question we occasionally get from parents," Brown said.

The new age policy applies to all of the company's theme parks, including Disney World in Florida.
