Long Beach ComicCon Marvels at Young Adult Authors

Young adult authors will sit on a panel and discuss the genre and give tips for becoming a young adult author.

The doors open at the Long Beach Convention Center on Nov. 3 and 4 for the Long Beach Comic and Horror Con, and among the many exhibits is a panel of young adult authors.

These authors may be sucked up into interdimensional wormholes of distant lands and superpowers, but before that happens they will appear on a panel together to discuss their chosen genre.

Among those authors, Jennifer Bosworth, author of “Struck,” Daniel Marks, author of “Velveteen,” and Gretchen McNeil, author of “Possess Ten,” will be on a panel at 2 pm on Sunday to talk about how they approach the young adult genre, to give tips on becoming a young adult author and will be doing a signing, according to Everything Long Beach.

Bosworth may have created a character that can withstand any lightening strike, but the excitement of Comicon sure has stricken her.

“Now that I’m attending the Long Beach Comic and Horror Con, I can die happy, even if I’m getting the life sucked out of me by Samara from ‘The Ring.’” Bosworth said in a recent article by Everything Long Beach. “I’ll die knowing I lived the LBCC!”

This year’s event is projected to have more than 10,000 unique attendees and will take over the lobby and ballroom area of the Long Beach Convention Center, according to the Long Beach Comicon Website.

“It is an absolute thrill to bring this caliber of talent to the show,” said Phil Lawrence, co-founder and sales director for LBCHC, in an article by Everything Long Beach. “With the heat that the Young Adult genre has experienced of late, we are so excited to have these authors to share their experience with the fans.”
