Famed Shipwreck Hunter Seeks bin Laden's Body

And on today's anniversary of the terrorist mastermind's death by the U.S., Patch columnist Phil Friedman shares his radio interview with Bill Warren, who plans to invite the public on expeditions.

Osama bin Laden may be dead, as of a year ago today, but shipwreck hunter Bill Warren is banking on the conspiracy theory that he is not. He's still looking for his body deep in the ocean, where the U.S. government has said it was buried  at sea.

Warren told Patch columnist Phil Friedman that he would be inviting the public on his voyages in search of the elusive Al Quada leader, who was killed after a brazen operation invaded his hiding place.

On Warren's website, in fact, he is selling T-shirts, for $19.95, that read, Dead or Alive? Join Osama bin Laden Sea Hunt." On the back: The Hunt for the Truth, and the website binladenseahunt.com.

He offers an overview on his website, which reads:

The plan is to begin a search in the North Arabian Sea in an attempt to locate the body of Osama Bin Laden which was supposedly tossed into the sea by the US Military. It is anticipated that a television production company will document the entire project. This will be a one-of-a-kind event like the World has never seen. Because America did not provide to the world photos or video or true DNA tests, many millions of people from all countries of the world do not believe Bin Laden is dead. Some people I have spoken to, including  muslims,  tell me they think Bin Laden is  not dead. This search will attempt to prove one way or the other that Bin Laden is dead.  Also, we will be able to provide true evidence that Bin Laden was killed if we can find his body.

On Philip Friedman Outdoors Radio, Warren further discusses his plans to hunt for the body, and how he has narrowed in on its possible resting spot in the Arabian Sea. He was interviewed on July 6, 2011.
