Meditation Flash Mob

Attendees will meet outside Chase Bank at 5200 E 2nd St before beginning a 44-minute silent meditation followed by an 11-minute sound bath.

"This month, we want to show solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement by holding our public meditation at a corporate bank. We hope that many will join us in generating peace and mindfulness in a time of upheaval and protest," explained Tony Damico, one of the four organizers of the local Long Beach MedMob group.

Participants are welcome to join or observe for whatever length of time they're comfortable with, and individuals from diverse backgrounds are invited, as the gatherings are non-partisan and non-religious. MedMobbegan this year on Jan. 30 when 60 people launched a meditation flash mob in Austin at the Texas State Capitol.  In February, the Austin MedMob grew to 250 people with seven other cities hosting their own MedMobs, according to organizers. They say that MedMob since has expanded rapidly to become a worldwide movement with public meditations planned in more than 130 cities.
