Hate Crimes Community Forum

Long Beach Councilmember Suja Lowenthal & The Center Long Beach invite you to participate in a Hate Crimes Community Forum this Sunday November 6th at 3pm in Bixby Park (in front of the Band Shell on Broadway & Cherry).

“I am asking members of the community to get together to discuss collaborative efforts and proactive steps we can take to protect our community from senseless and hateful violence,” said Lowenthal. “The meeting comes in response to a hate crime that occurred on Monday in the Second District involving two victims, as well as another alleged hate crime occurring on Saturday night. Incidents like these are intolerable and a reminder that we must maintain vigilance. While the suspects were in custody only minutes after Monday night's attacks and I am very thankful to and proud of our police, I would like us to dialogue with partners such as LBPD, The Center, business & residential associations.”
