ZAMFEST multi-cultural festival

ZAMFEST, a new culture-fusion festival created to inspire kids to seek out their passion will make its debut on Saturday, October 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Marina Green Park in Long Beach.  ZAMFEST is a new version of a multi-cultural festival featuring culture, sub-culture, music, art and adventure.

Festival entertainment will include the Taiko Project; the original music of teen rock band The Christopher Brothers; the Indian Bollywood-style dance troupe Beyondancing; the quirky dance music of AJ & The Flip Flops; the amazing, athletic hip hop dancing of the Beast Mode Crew and the turntable and beat-making sounds of Knockstudy DJ Scratch.  Also making her performing debut singing her hit song "Do My Thang" is Cori B, who follows in the musical footsteps of her father Snoop Dogg.  The festival will also feature a hands on recycled material ReCreate Art project, a EuroZip line above festival grounds; Human Hamster Balls, food trucks and a surprise performance.

Participants are invited to support the official non-profit partner, Create Now.  Create Now helps transform the lives of at-risk and high-risk kids through their extensive network of creative arts mentors all across Southern California. A portion of the proceeds from ZAMFEST will go to Create now, according to organizers. More than 100 kids from Create Now will be ZAMFEST’s guests at the festival.  For more information on Create Now please visit createnow.org.
