Vaudeville Show to Support Musical Bike Tour

Long Beach singer-songwriter Alyssandra Nighswonger is curating the "Follow Me Along The Sea Vaudeville Spectacular" at the Art Theater in Long Beach (2025 East 4th), Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 8pm.  The show will be a 3-hour Vaudeville-Variety show, featuring 15 local acts, to release her new EP, When my love knot slips, and fundraise for her 6-week music-tour-by-bicycle from Seattle, WA along the coast to Long Beach, CA. For a $25 contribution and up, contributors are invited to the 3 hour show including local bands, Red River, LN Warkentine and the Allies of WWIII, Rainmain, Miniature Houses, Pebaluna, Merrady. Also, local poets, Toren Wallace, Eitan Kadosh, G. Murray Thomas and Raul Ruiz will be performing, as well as local belly dancing troupe, Sirena Serpentina, AND... if that wasn't enough... a stationary bicycle race between the infamous Strong Bear, and local super hero, the Bixby Knolls Ranger.  Since it's a vaudeville-themed show, you are invited to come dressed up.
Along with admission, guests will receive a copy of Alyssandra Nighswonger's new EP, When my love knot slips…. This is Alyssandra's 3rd album, recorded at CSUDH, and features Joshua Bassett from Portland band, Welfare.

The Follow Me Along the Sea bicycle tour will start in Seattle, WA on Saturday, May 4th and continue through Olympia, Portland, Eureka, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Big Sur, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura and then back home to Long Beach.  It's roughly about 1500 miles, and the group will be traveling approximately 40-60 miles a day.  They should arrive back home around June 15th.

This fundraiser campaign is organized through indiegogo.com, an online fundraising site for creative projects.  For different tiers of donations, Alyssandra is offering all kinds of prizes including tickets to and advertising at the Vaudeville Spectacular, copies of When my love knot slips…, a photo-video montage of sponsors with footage from the tour, paintings, signed posters, and at the top tier, Alyssandra is offering to write a song about anything or anyone the sponsor wants, sing it on top of a mountain somewhere along the tour, film it, broadcast it on YouTube, and make the donor a personalized CD.
