Long Beach’s GO-FAME Youth Theatre Company presents a fun musical comedy for all ages at CSULB’s University Theatre. “High Button Shoes” is less about old-timey fashion and more about what happens to a New Jersey town when a con-man and his sidekick arrive. Comical twists and turns, turn-of-the-century technology, and, of course, romance comprise this Broadway show set in 1913. Expect to see beautiful period costumes, exciting song and dance numbers, a college football team, funny chase scenes, a gorilla (!) and more than 40 cast members, ages 8-18.
“This musical is recommended for ages four and up and provides a wonderful opportunity for kids to experience live theatre and begin a life-long appreciation of the arts,” says the managing director Kathy McGuire.
Tickets available through the website www.GO-FAME.org and at the box office 30 minutes prior to showtime. The musical is about 90 minutes in length and has an intermission.
