Festival of Lights Under Way

Nearly 30 businesses will again get into the holiday spirit this year by decorating for the season as part of the Downtown Long Beach Associates’ (DLBA) annual Festival of Lights promotion taking place from December 1, through 24, 2011.
Festival of Lights is designed to create a festive atmosphere for Downtown diners, shoppers, residents, visitors and
employees, and also increase foot traffic to local businesses. Downtown consumers are encouraged to visit the participating businesses where they can vote for their favorite holiday display at each of the establishments. Those who vote will be entered to win a $100 Downtown Prize Package and the winner will be announced in the January edition of
the DLBA’s monthly e-newsletter, the Downtown Scene. Download a free map of all participating venues and sign up to receive the e-newsletter at www.downtownlongbeach.org.
Participating businesses include: Alondra Hot Wings, Anderson Paint and Hardware, Antonio's Barber Supply, Appleby
Brokerage, The Auld Dubliner, The B Store, Baubles Jewelry, Bliss 525, Bob the Chiropractor, Candy Bouquet, Coldstone Creamery, Cover Me Green Roofing, JJ Rowe, Kabob Curry, Kavikas Grill and Bar, Lifestyle Mobility and Medical Supply, The Lil Smoke Shop, Long Beach Depot For Creative Reuse, Lyons Art Supply, Mabel’s Pralines, Metropolitan Design,
Octopus Japanese Restaurant, Omelette Inn, Outback Steakhouse, Pinkberry, Shannon's, Stefano's, Taco Beach, and Viva
Café.
In addition to the Festival of Lights¸ the DLBA has added to the holiday décor by placing holiday swags, wreaths, lights
and garlands throughout Downtown Long Beach. These festive decorations are located on Pine Avenue, from First Street to Tenth Street, and on Broadway from Pine Avenue to Alamitos Avenue, and will remain in place through the New Year.
