"Art Under Umbrellas"

BIXBY PARK TO SHOWCASE “ART UNDER UMBRELLAS” EXHIBITION

(Local Artists to Display their Wares at Fundraiser for Bixby Park on 07/14)

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – Long Beach art lovers and residents will gather at Bixby Park Bandshell for Friends of Bixby Park’s First Annual “Art Under Umbrellas” exhibition and fundraiser on Saturday, July 14th from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The exhibition will feature artworks by local artists in a colorful and whimsical setting. There will be a coffee and bake sale in the morning. Musical entertainment will be provided by indie rock band Sympathetic Frequencies at 1 p.m.. The event is free and open to the public. Art work on display will be sold to the public. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Friends of Bixby Park’s Parcel 1 Renovation Project, slated to begin later this year. Bixby Park is located on the corner of 1st and Junipero Streets in Long Beach-between Broadway Ave. and Ocean Ave.

THIS SUMMER Friends of Bixby Park has partnered with local restaurants, including Park Pantry, Olives Gourmet Grocer, Café Ambrosia and Paradise Piano Bar & Restaurant, to offer exhibition attendees picnic meals for $10 and under. Restaurant owners will donation $2 from every picnic meal to Friends of Bixby Park’s Parcel 1 Renovation Project.
