Aquarium Halloween's Night Dive

The Aquarium of the Pacific invites you to a spine-chilling (for ages 18 and over) nocturnal experience during Halloween Night Dive. Emerge from your tombs and head to the Aquarium to join 11,000 animals for a chilling evening celebrating Halloween and the Antarctic. The aquarium will feature live music performed by bands and DJs, a live art exhibition by 25 artists curated by Mark Olivas of Unincorporated Artists Management, stencil murals by Ben Koffman of L.A. Mural Front, delectable cocktails, and a free photo booth next to the Aquarium’s new polar gallery where guests can dress up in cold weather gear used by Antarctic researchers on the ice. Feel free to wear a costume as Aquarium staff will be scouting the area for costume contest winners.

In addition to all the amusing affairs, the Aquarium will host a live video conference from Cape Armitage, Antarctica, where attendees can chat with a researcher on the ice!  Attendees can hear what it’s like surviving the icy conditions and dangerous weather of Antarctica and even ask questions of their own. Eco-physiologist Dr. Gretchen Hofmann and her team conduct research spotlighting the effects of climate change and how these conditions affect marine species. Guests can be part of the live discussion as it’s streamed through video to Antarctica while learning how Dr. Hofmann and her team has survived treacherous conditions while conducting their research on environmental changes in this chilling atmosphere.
