Craft of the Week: Drinking Straw Moustaches

Everyone loves a mustache! Use this craft to add some fun flare to plain drinking straws.

Crafts are a great way to exercise your artistic side but they are also very useful at bringing people together. Each week, we will post a simple and easy project for your enjoyment. This is a great opportunity for you to reconnect with your friends and family while enjoying a weekly craft night. 

Drinking Straw Mustaches

Adding some flare to drinks has always been fun. Tiny umbrellas, adorably-shaped ice cubes, and fancy fruit cubes - we have seen it all before. Mustaches are all the rage these days and they come in all kinds of comical shapes and sizes. Use this simple craft to add some macho mustaches to your party guests as they drink the night away!

What You Need

  • Study black paper 
  • Drinking straws
  • Scissors 
  • Glue

Step 1
Draw a variety of mustaches that are appropriately sized for your guest's faces. If you are not confident in your drawing skills, feel free to print some mustaches from the internet.

Step 2
Carefully cut out the mustaches.

Step 3
Apply glue to the center of the mustache and adhere it to the bend of the drinking straw. If you are working with a hot-glue gun, avoiding applying the glue directly to the straw, as the heat from the glue gun may melt the straw. 

Step 4
Place the straw into the drink of your choice and enjoy your new-found facial hair!

Fun Tip: Drinks are often abandoned or misplaced at parties. You can use this same mustace craft to help label all the drinks. Simply take a white crayon and label the straws with your guests' names.
