At the Fourth Annual Long Beach Farm Dinner, notable chefs will create a culinary, multi-course experience, using locally grown fresh ingredients.
The "under the stars" event is a celebration showcasing the seasonal bounty of the Autumn Harvest at The Growing Experience, an urban farm attached to the Carmelitos Public Housing Development, 750 Via Carmelitos in Long Beach.
Proceeds from the dinner -- $85 a head, $640 per table of eight -- will benefit the urban farm.
Casual attire is suggested, with flat shoes and a jacket; guests who want to drink wine or beer must bring their own, though there will be one glass of wine for guests as they explore the farm.
Children are welcome but must also have tickets, since it is a fundraiser.
The meal will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here.
Those preparing the meal -- it will be served in a communal style setting -- will include:
- Paul Buchanan, Primal Alchemy Catering
- Michael Poompan, Sip at the Renaissance
- Craig Brady Haven, Gastropub & Taco Asylum
- Art Gonzalez, Roe, Fish Market & Restaurant
- Sam Goldman & Rich Mead and
- Pastry Chef David Baker
