Small Earthquake Jolts Region

The 3.4 temblor strikes about midnight and some feel it in the Shore.

Night owls may have noticed a 3.4 magnitude earthquake that struck just after midnight today.

Epicentered in Willowbrook about 17 miles northwest of Belmont Shore, it was quick and jolting quake at 12:07 a.m., according to the United States Geological Survey. No serious damage has been reported. Shore residents reported hearing it more than feeling it; the quake was very brief felt here.
