Semi Takes out the Light at 4th and Junipero Today

Patch photographer Shannon Fiorica snapped this shot of the resulting damage today.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. Friday, a U.S Foodservice semi-truck trailer clipped the southwest traffic signal at the corner of Fourth Street and Junipero. The granite pole crumbled. A vintage Ford black pickup truck was spared damage as the traffic signal housing became tangled in the nearby telephone pole support cables. The police arrived as patrons of Portfolio Coffee House updated their Facebook status and tweeted the event. Children at Burbank Elementary School crowded the northwest corner of the playground during recess to view the developments.
