Pets to Strut in St. Patty's Pet Pageant

The event and parade will take place Sunday morning.

Does your pooch, feline or other crazy pet have a hankering to be dressed up in a costume and paraded down the street? Their answer might be a resounding "no" but we all know your answer is "most definitely yes."

To help, the Pet Post and the Pet Sit Pros will host the St. Patty's Pet Pageant Sunday morning at Good Neighbor Park, 2800 N. Studebaker Road in Long Beach beginning at 10 a.m.

The event will focus on pet adoption and giving many animals a second chance at a home. Along with the parade, organizers have planned music, live entertainment, shopping and food.

Organizers said anyone is welcome to join the pet parade and welcome all pets dressed in their St. Patrick's Day best. The best dressed pets will be announced as winners.

Close to one dozen non-profit cat and dog rescue groups and animal humane groups will also be on hand helping displaced pets find homes.
