Help AIDS Patients Just By Dining Out Thursday
Two dozen Long Beach restaurants are giving part of proceeds Thursday to a charity event. Read below for a list of local eateries that are participating and find how to win free Jet Blue Airline tickets.
Mexican, Italian, Greek--there are several delicious ways to share the love Thursday by dining at any of two dozen Long Beach restaurants that are sharing 20 percent of proceeds for HIV and AIDS patients.
The annual C.A.R.E. to Dine benefit is an easy sell: give to your community effortlessly by simply eating out.
It’s a chance to munch down guilt free knowing that 20 percent of the proceeds are going to the South Bay’s only HIV/AIDS treatment program, located at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Long Beach.

Organizers of the event are encouraging the entire community to get involved by inviting neighbors, friends and family to join them in dining out at one of the restaurants graciously donating part of meal payments for the cause. The places to eat and give effortlessly are listed below.
The event’s honorary chair, Long Beach Vice Mayor Robert Garcia, is inviting the community to join him at La Traviata from 5-11 p.m. Additionally, he's hosting an after-party benefiting the C.A.R.E. Program at the Skyroom at 8:30 p.m.

Do-gooders attending the after-party will have the opportunity to win a pair of free Jet Blue airline tickets by entering a raffle.
"I am honored to serve as honorary chair of the C.A.R.E to Dine event, and as host of the fundraising after-party,” said Garcia in a statement. “St. Mary's contribution to the health of our community is incredible, and I am very grateful to all the sponsors, including Jet Blue and all our local participating restaurants.”
“We are grateful to have Vice Mayor Garcia hosting our signature event, and deeply appreciate the community’s support for the C.A.R.E. Program,” said Robert Stohr of the C.A.R.E Program said.
