Hearts for Hounds

The Long Beach-based rescue group, Hearts for Hounds, is bursting at the seems with adorable adoptables.

Max

Sex: Male
Age: 4 months old
Breed: Manchester Terrier Mix

Max is a bouncy and happy puppy. He is particularly intelligent and well adjusted. Max is quite the lover (he loves to give kisses) and is sure to win your heart. Like most all the dogs at Hearts for Hounds, Max fairs well with other dogs.

Whitney
Sex: Female
Age: 1 year old
Breed: Maltese / Poodle Mix (also known as MaltiPoo)

Whitney's coat is as white as snow and most likely hypoallergenic! She may start off a tad bit shy, but she has a very sweet and calm disposition. Whitney is a sophisticated little lady, but she is not afraid to play hard with the other hounds.

Mitsy
Sex: Female
Age: 2 years old
Breed: Shih Tzu / Terrier Mix

Misty is scruffy-looking pup, but she definitely  knows how to work what she's got! She  has a super sweet dog that gets along with other dogs. In fact, her sister Myra  is also available for adoption at Hearts for Hounds.

Myra
Sex: Female
Age: 2 years old
Breed: Shih Tzu / Terrier Mix

Myra may not win any beauty contests, but she is a strong contender for the Ms. Congeniality! She has a great personality and is particularly sweet. She also enjoys the company of other canines. Myra's sister, Mitsy, is also available for adoption, though they are not a bonded pair and can be adopted to separate homes.

Cooper
Sex: Male
Age: 4 months old
Breed: Daschund / Jack Russel Mix

Just like the car, Cooper is pretty miniature. He is a sweet and smart little pup. Cooper will likely grow up to be a playful and energetic pooch. Best of all, this mini Cooper gets along with other dogs!

All of these pets and more are available for adoption through the Hearts for Hounds rescue group. For more information on these pets and more, please visit their website or call Bonnie Sheehan at (562) 597-7137.

Hearts For Hounds is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Most of the dogs in the Hearts for Hounds adoption program are pulled out of local animal shelters that do not have the space or finances to care for them. Hearts for Hounds takes these dogs, cares for them and, ultimately, rehomes them.

Hearts for Hounds was established in 1997 and has since placed over 17,000 dogs into permanent, loving homes.

Each adoption includes the following:

  • Spay/neuter surgery or voucher
  • Current vaccinations and microchip
  • FREE vet check with the Hearts for Hound veterinarian, Dr. Sam
