Fitch, Jocko & Lunar: The Firm...of Lovable Pets

This week, we return to the City of Long Beach's state-of-the-art shelter called P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village and Education Center,  where the spcaLA runs the adoption program. All adopted pets are microchipped and spayed or neutered, before they go home with their new families. If you are ready to adopt, be sure your whole family can meet the would-be pet first. The whole process of filling out paperwork, meeting with your new cat or dog (or bunny, hamster or guinea pig), and paying the adoption fee, takes about an hour.  And now, meet our six featured pets of this week.

Fitch is one of those cats who loves to have people around.  He will kiss you every chance he gets.  They don’t come much more affectionate than Fitch.  He is a 3-year- old domestic short hair kitty who is wonderful with kids.  He has a best friend in the shelter, Teddy, who he plays with all the time.   They would love to be adopted together, but that is not a deal-breaker if there's one for only one. Fitch is ready to join his new family, as soon as possible.

Jocko is a 5-year-old German Shepard.  He is a very affectionate, playful boy who already knows how to sit and shake your hand.  He loves to play fetch and can’t wait to find a home with experienced owners with no other pets and no small children.  Jocko loves to run around and needs his exercise.  Will his sweet face and gentle ways win you over? There is only one way to find out for sure.

When you walk into the cat room at the spcaLa in Long Beach, the boy you hear meowing is probably Lovey.  He is a 5-year-old orange tabby and he weighs 11 pounds. His caretakers think he is likely a Siamese mix.  His almond-shaped eyes, long elegant tail, and beautiful orange coloring will combine to melt your heart.  He is great with kids, and if you decide to take him home with you, just be sure to give him plenty of time to nap.

Lunar is a 25 pound, five-year-old poodle mix.  He is super soft and cuddly and warm and affectionate.  Lunar would love to get regular walks because he loves to explore and meet new people.  He plays well with other dogs and would be great with children.  Every few weeks, Lunar loves his trip to the groomers to get new handsome haircuts.  This sweet boy just can’t wait to find his new family.  Do you have room in your heart for one more?

Teddy is a 4-year-old domestic short hair.  He is a beautiful white kitty with just a couple of black markings that give him a very distinguished look.   Teddy is great friends with Fitch and they would love to be adopted to the same home, but Teddy would not mind at all if he got a home all to himself.  He is an independent kitty, but he also loves his playtime, so be sure you give him some love and attention when you visit.  He would love to find out if you are the person for him.

Luna (not to be mistaken for Lunar) is a 5-year-old domestic short hair kitty.  She is a beautiful white with black markings cat and she is absolutely adorable.  Luna would love to have a home all to herself.  She loves gentle play and is ready to find her new perch in your heart.  Is she the kitty for you?  Come in and find out.  She is wonderful with visitors!
