This year's holiday parade of high school marching bands, prancing mutts, charity groups, local businesses and waving city officials will also celebrate Long Beach's Olympians.

Belmont Shore’s 30th annual Christmas parade this Saturday on Dec. 1 from 6 pm to 9 pm will have the theme “Go for the Gold” and its grand marshals will be hometown favorite Misty May Treanor and her husband and Dodgers player Matt Treanor.

Jessica Hardy, a student at Wilson High School and an Olympic gold medalist, will also be riding in the parade, which will travel on East 2nd Street between Livingston Avenue and Bayshore Avenue, according to a press release.

This year’s parade includes more than 100 entries, including floats, marching bands, local personalities and dignitaries, and Santa Claus. At least 12 of these 100 entries are local marching bands, according to the BSBA. Look for a complete rundown of the parade entries and order Tuesda
